SourceOne Insurance is an independent agent, that works for you — not for the insurance companies, to secure maximum coverage for the lowest premium. We offer Insurance for your Home, Autos, Boat, RV , ATV, Business, Medicare and MarketPlace "ObamaCare" for people under age 65.
Utah state law requires a minimum amount of coverage and Utah is a no-fault state, meaning your insurance will pay your injury claims up to a specified limit, regardless of who caused the accident. The minimum car insurance requirement for Utah drivers is:
- $25,000 bodily injury per person per accident
- $65,000 bodily injury for all persons per accident
- $15,000 property damage liability
- $3,000 personal injury protection
- $25,000/$65,000 uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage
You can reject in writing the “loss of income” portion of the PIP requirement and all uninsured/underinsured coverages. Utah does not require you to carry additional coverage Collision and Comprehensive.
Liability Insurance protects you when an accident is your fault. If other people are injured, your insurance will pay for their medical expenses. If you damage any property that belongs to someone else, like a car, house or store, your insurance company will pay to have it restores to pre accident condition. Liability Coverage is made up of two parts:
Bodily injury pays for any injuries to others caused by the accident. This includes everything from medical expenses like doctor visits and physical therapy to lost wages and funeral expenses. Property damage covers damage to someone’s property. Pretty straightforward. Typically, this would be their vehicle, but it would also cover things like someone's house or fence .
Collision Coverage pays for covered damages to your vehicle from an accident, regardless of fault. You hit another vehicle. This covers the damages to your car. You run into an inanimate object and crunch your car. Collision will pay to get it repaired..
Comprehensive Coverage pays for covered damage to your vehicle that is caused by anything that is not an accident. This could be hail, flood, or fire damage, vandalism, or even an unfortunate run-in with a deer. It will cover small issues like a cracked windshield, and if your car is stolen.
